We have spent the last couple of weeks chewing on some of the one another commands of Scripture. Now we pull them out of the church-worship setting (liturgy) and into the life-worship setting (daily living). We will deal with one couplet per day, which is probably more than enough. Each area is being coupled with an action from a 14-day challenge to love one another found by one of our members (Thank you Tracy!)
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
Love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Overlook someone’s shortcomings.
Serve one another in love.
Spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Speak kindly.
Keep on loving each other as brothers.
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another.
Show mercy to someone.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you,
in order to bring praise to God.
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Resist the impulse to categorize others.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another.
Focus on what you have in common with everybody you meet.
Don't grumble against each other.
Do not slander one another.
Don’t criticize actions or circumstances.
Do not lie to each other.
Do not deceive one another.
Look beyond looks.
Lord, [insert your prayer here]
Amen.
