Pondering Point

Today we rejoice in the ultimate “Sent One” Jesus, who came with a good news message of peace with God. The Powerful One sent His son Jesus Christ to us with terms of peace, not only with Israel, but for the world – for you. Have you “made peace” with God in Jesus? As God says, it’s the only way known to man to make peace with Him (Acts 4:12).

Prayer

Father God, Thank You (once again!) for the peace I have with You thanks to Jesus – may He be forever praised with You and the Holy Spirit as One. Amen.

Question: When you think of God “giving His Son” as John 3:16 describes, do you picture Jesus’ birth or His death?

Does your mind lean toward lyrics like a Christmas carol picture?
“Let all together praise our God before
His glorious throne; today He opens
heav’n again to give us His own Son…”

Or does your mind go to the Amazing Grace lyric, “and when I think that God His Son not sparing, sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in…”?
