Sunday's One Another Commands

Love One Another

1 John 4:12

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Pondering Point

One of the ways God performs His divine service of love is through His people. Sometimes we are the beneficiary, sometimes we are the deliverer. Both aspects are blessings as His grace flows from person to person.

In this call to love one another, there is a great concept: God's love is completed in us when we reach out and love others.

Now, don't just ponder this idea, but pray about them coming to full fruition as you attach yourself to Jesus the Vine -- and pray it for others!

Ponder these four questions with God now (and eventually a group of others):

  1. Who best conveyed God’s love to you this week? Thank God.
  2. Who needs God’s love conveyed this week? Pray for/love them.
  3. To whom did I fail to show God’s love? Seek forgiveness.
  4. To whom did I show God’s love? Praise God for faithfulness.

Prayer Prompt

Father, I want to see Your love complete in me. And I would be thrilled to part of Your love being completed in others as they enjoy Your love with me as well. Enable us to have relationships that foster this opportunity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
