Wellspring of Joy
2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin (Jesus) to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
• I am valued highly by my heavenly Father and will seek first His kingdom knowing that He will provide for all my needs.
Romans 3:21-22
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
Pondering Point
Don't ever lose this truth as a follower of God: You don't generate righteousness with God; He does. You don't become righteous by your efforts; God makes you righteous through His son Jesus (thanks be to God for faith -- see Romans 3:21-22).
We have an advocate with the Father --
Jesus Christ the Rightous One.
Even the righteousness that we display in our lives as disciples of Jesus is there because of the goodness of God who lives in us. AND YET, we ARE the righteousness of God thanks be to Jesus and we do display it to a world in need of God's righteousness. So let's BE the righteousness of God that He has made us to be – in Jesus!
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Righteous One of God, thank You for taking on our unrighteousness, becoming sin for us, so that we could become the righteousness of God. I pray that this truth manifests in my life as God’s child and Your disciple. Thank You my Savior and my friend. Amen.
