Wellspring of Joy

Ephesians 2:13,19

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ… consequently you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.
~ The Apostle Paul

Pondering Point

Our point to ponder today is couched in prayer language, directed to our Lord Jesus whose life of sacrifice opens the door for our reception into God’s family, His home, His kingdom.

Read through the prayer itself to familiarize yourself with its contents; then work your way through it as a prayer – a conversation with Jesus. You are by no means limited to the length of the following prayer. Talk freely with your Lord, your Savior, your friend.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, with joy I thank You that I am welcome to set foot in the city of God, to take refuge in the fortress of God, to eat at the table of God. I am thankful that Your immigration policy does not require me to earn my citizenship, but that You graciously open Your doors that I may join You as a fellow citizen of God’s kingdom. May that kingdom come to all people through faith in Your sacrifice for us for our forgiveness of sin, for our salvation and for our citizenship. In Your name I ask this. Amen.
