Biblical Teaching on Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:17b
Pray continually
~Apostle Paul
Pondering Point
Talk about a challenge! Creating constant communication with God! What could that entail??? Is it keeping him abreast of everything in your heart and mind? He already knows what’s there. It is seeking his insights to be placed in your heart and mind as you go? That would be great, but is that the point? Could it be continual songs of thanksgiving and praise? That sounds beautiful, but not likely. BUT if we define prayer as relating to God, that might change how you go about praying continually. One person describes it as always being "on line" with God. How can you maintain a relationship with God? How would you personally do such a thing? I love this answer shared on the gotquestions.org website:
“For Christians, prayer should be like breathing. You do not
have to think to breathe because the atmosphere exerts
pressure on your lungs and essentially forces you to breathe.
That is why it is more difficult to hold your breath than it is to
breathe. Similarly, when we are born into the family of God,
we enter into a spiritual atmosphere where God's presence
and grace exert pressure, or influence, on our lives. Prayer is
the normal response to that pressure. As believers, we have
all entered the divine atmosphere to breathe the air of prayer.”

Prayer
Father God, let’s dig deeper into our relationship so that I can grow into this perpetual prayer posture the Apostle Paul describes. This is Your area. I want it to be mine. Show me the way. Direct my paths. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
