2 Corinthians 5:21

God made him who had no sin (Jesus) to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

• In Christ, we are enabled to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; we can submit to Him in all our ways and know that He will make our paths straight.

Pondering Point

We have an
advocate
with the Father -
Jesus Christ
the
righteous one.

Don't ever lose this truth as a follower of God: You don't generate righteousness with God; He does. You don't become righteous by your efforts; God makes you righteous through His son Jesus (thanks be to God for faith -- see Romans 3:21-22). Even the righteousness that we display in our lives as disciples of Jesus is there because of the goodness of God who lives in us. AND YET, we ARE the righteousness of God thanks to Jesus and we can display this to a world in need of God's righteousness. So let's BE the righteousness of God that He has made us to be – in Jesus!

Prayer for the Day

Lord Jesus, Righteous One of God, thank You
for taking on our unrighteousness, becoming sin for us, so that we could become the righteousness of God. I pray that this truth manifests in my life as God’s child and Your disciple. Thank You my Savior and my friend. Amen.
