to Gather Together
Jesus’ name foreshadows His life – coming to save the world from sin. Keep that in mind as you ponder these statements about Him:
1 John 2:1-2
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Romans 5:8
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Prayer for Worship
Father God, I am grateful to have been grafted* into your kingdom by grace. I desire to be a branch producing fruit in keeping with repentance. I would love to produce fruit showing myself to be a disciple. I know these require that I am connected to Your Son Jesus the Vine. Thank You that in the name of Jesus I am forgiven of my sins and part of the bumper crop that is your sons and daughters of the Kingdom. In Jesus, the Vine, I pray. Amen.
