Prayerfully Re-Center Around God
Ephesians 1:18a
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you…
~ Apostle Paul
Pondering Point
The Spirit serving as our ultimate optometrist: Eye-healer and hope-revealer. This is your prayer for the week. First, let’s apply it to others. Then we will take a look at ourselves with the help of our Optometrist.
Review
How many different people could you hold up to God in prayer to receive this gift? Make a list and start praying it for them:
Journal Prompt:
My initial list:

Prayer
Lord God, I pray that the eyes of ______’s heart may be enlightened in order that he/she may know the hope to which You have called him/her. Remove all spiritual blinders of the enemy and heal _____.
Repent if Necessary
Now back to yourself. Have you inadvertently slid into hopelessness in certain areas of life? Have your eyes become weak spiritually, failing to see God in the mix? If so, repent.
Return (as necessary)
Follow the footsteps of the ancient psalmist and thirst for the living God (Psalm 42:2).
Psalm 42:2
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
Take his words from Psalm 42:5 and make them your own:
Psalm 42:5
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
Prayer
Lord God, I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened in order that I may know the hope to which You have called me. Remove all spiritual blinders of the enemy and heal me. I will praise You my God in the name of my Savior Jesus in whom I pray. Amen.
