Friday's Bit of Discipleship
God loves us so much and wants to bless us so much that He allows events and people to interact with our lives in ways that we would never consciously choose. God's active process of humbling us is not to make our lives miserable but to truly make our lives awesome. What is essential is reminding ourselves of his power and goodness even when bitter arrows fly our way.

Discipleship Prayer of Humility
Thank You, God for loving me so much and blessing me through events and people that intersect with my life in ways I would not consciously choose. As you continue to more deeply humble me, remind me to lean into Your power and goodness to fend off whatever bitter arrows fly my way.
In Jesus I pray. Amen.
MISSIO DEI Discipleship Point
How important is knowing, understanding and applying the Missio Dei essentials?
If the sent ones fail to participate in God’s Missio Dei essentials, they should expect disaster and eternal consequences. Neglecting God’s Missio Dei leads to chaos and rebellion. This is poignantly illustrated in Israel’s failure as recorded in Judges 2:1-3 (see also Ezekiel 33).
Note how each one of the sending essentials was carried out by Christ. Christ did not fail God, His Father who sent Him. Note how each of the essentials was executed by the Holy Spirit, who also did not fail the Senders – God the Father and God the Son.
How important it is then, that the sent believers know, understand, and apply who they are in Christ! They are given a divine authority to represent Jesus. They are given the power and love of God to leave their comfort zones and go with the Gospel of Christ into the world with its diverse and ever-changing cultures, languages, social structures, relationships, values, beliefs, and world views!

Discipleship Prayer
Lord Jesus, let Your Holy Spirit lead us as believers to know, understand, and apply who we are in You! Remind us to live out of and under our divine authority as Your representatives.
Having been given God’s power and love, compel us to leave our comfort zones and go with the Gospel of Christ into the world with its diverse and ever-changing cultures, languages, social structures, relationships, values, beliefs, and world views! In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
