Wellspring of Joy

Ephesians 1:4

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.

Pondering Point

Oh, the pain that goes with being picked last – or not at all. It may seem silly to talk about not being picked for something like grade school kickball, but it is amazing how deep wounds go when we are not chosen, when we are rejected or treated as if we have little value.

Contrast that with the joy of being chosen early -- especially when you are chosen by someone that matters to you. Oh, the joy of being chosen, of being valued by someone whom you value. God values you.

Not only does God know the very hairs on your head, he values the head attached to that hair (or was as the case may be 😊). In fact, He values all of who you are -- head to toe, inside and out. And He chose you to be holy and blameless in His sight -- head to toe, inside and out – through the person and work of Jesus.

Prayer

Father God, not only do I celebrate that I am chosen by You in Jesus, I also celebrate the truth that You say I am holy and blameless in Your sight. May I reflect that day after day as I grow in You. In Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
