Prayerfully Re-Center Around God
1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.
~Apostle Paul
Pondering Point
Today’s prayer includes this week’s thematic blessing from Scripture (found on Sunday). The Apostle Paul knew that any return to visit their fellow disciples in Thessalonica would be up to the Lord. But regardless of their ability to visit face-to-face, Paul lifted up this prayer of blessing for them.
By way of our Review, Repent and Return to prayerfully re-center on God, let’s lift up prayers of blessing to those we love but whom we cannot visit face-to-face.
Review
Who enters you mind that you wish you could visit with face-to-face? Individuals, families, groups? Make your list below:
Repent (if necessary)
Rather than repenting, pray that each person you listed has a clear conscience with God, having sought His face and repented of sinful attitudes and actions.
Return (as necessary)
“Return” to Paul’s words from and present those you have listed to the Lord for a blessing:
Lord God, I bring to mind _____________ and ask that You enable them to be part of Your family where love increases and overflows for one another. May You strengthen their hearts so that they will be blameless and holy in Your presence, Father God, when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones. In His Name I pray. Amen.
