Pondering Point
We add another facet to yesterday's teaching out of Luke 22:15: Jesus wanted to share this experience with His disciples before He suffered. Though Jesus did not eagerly desire to suffer, He did eagerly desire to share this communal experience with His disciples – and the Bible makes it clear that Jesus eagerly desires to share life with us too. That desire is what drove Him to suffer and die for us on the cross.
Prayer for the Day
Jesus, I love Your huge heart and deep passion for people. You are worthy of all our love and honor and glory. Let our hearts and lives reflect a depth of appreciation and gratitude for Your presence in our lives and for our presence in Your life now and eternally. Amen.
