John 12:26
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

• I am HIS servant, following Jesus wherever he takes me and celebrating that Father God honors the one who serves Him.
Pondering Point
Today we start with our prayer and then take a few minutes to review our lives as part of our Thursday response as disciples of Jesus.
Prayer for the Day
Oh Father God, I want to find honor in Your eyes, to bring honor to You by my words and actions. Jesus has taught us that such honor comes through serving as we follow Him. Help me to sift out Your values and Your ways from the values and ways of this world. Renew my mind so that I can be transformed and know Your good and perfect will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
Pause… listen for the Spirit of God responding to your prayer… then ask for a blessing as you review your life as a servant of God.
Review
Do you seek to serve rather than be served? Do you see serving others as an act of following Jesus? Are you content to serve without recognition knowing that God honors the one who serves Him?
Repent if Necessary
Repent of looking to be served rather than being the server, and/or of belittling small acts of service as inconsequential rather than being great ways to follow Jesus, and/or of forgetting to honor God through service.
Return as Necessary
Go back and pray the prayer for the day, including taking the time to pause and listen at the end.
