Discipleship Response
Ephesians 2:10a and 10b
a. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus…
b. to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
• In Christ, I am God’s handiwork. I have been created in Him
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for me to do.
Pondering Point
Having acknowledged and celebrated that you are God's handiwork, you need to know that the creative invention God built you to become only materializes through and connected with Jesus Christ, not apart from Him. We have been made for service in the kingdom of God, which is why we’re designed the way we are. Let’s do a review.
Review
Do you think of yourself as God's handiwork in Christ? What ‘good works’ do you sense God has you taking part in? Do you have a plan or system to stay connected to Jesus in relation to His word, to prayer, and to His people?
Repent if Necessary
Repent of devaluing God's creative handiwork in you or others; of not prioritizing time with Jesus to stay connected for the sake of faith and good works.
Return as Necessary
Thank God for His creative handiwork in designing you. Thank Him for specific gifts and skill sets that you have. (take time to list and appreciate. You might consider doing the same with your spouse and children).
Then, with thanksgiving in your heart and mind, recommit your time, your life, your skills, your talents and your spiritual gifts to God your Father.
